Welland has always been home to me. As a lifelong resident, husband, father, property taxpayer, educator, business owner and community volunteer, I’ve built my career and community work around connecting people and turning ideas into action.
Over a four-year period, I served on six municipal advisory committees: Seniors, Heritage, Town and Gown, Arts and Culture, Accessibility, and the former Transit committee. My service on the Arts and Culture Committee now spans more than 10 years and continues today.
As founder of the Art Gallery of Welland, I’ve worked with artists, volunteers, board members and local businesses to develop partnerships, exhibitions, programming and fundraisers. I also spearheaded Art on Welland Bell Boxes, bringing public art into our neighbourhoods and creating paid opportunities for artists. Behind that work are practical responsibilities: coordinating projects, administering grants, managing funding and following through.
During COVID, I created The Great Canadian Beard Company, building a successful online business offering Canadian-made grooming products. From developing the brand and website to marketing and managing costs, I understand the commitment required to build and sustain a small business.
I’ve taught Business and Marketing at Northern College and Creative Industries at Conestoga College. Today, I’m a Digital Production Specialist with the Niagara Catholic District School Board, drawing on my background in communications, design and digital media. I’ve also undertaken studies toward a University of Toronto project management certificate.
I’m running for Ward 2 Councillor to bring that experience to City Hall; with responsible spending, thoughtful growth, clear communication and residents included earlier in decisions.

Residents also deserve to feel safe in their neighbourhoods, parks, downtown, local businesses, while waiting for public transit, riding the bus, and enjoying public spaces without feeling intimidated or unsafe.
These goals are not in conflict.
The City of Welland cannot solve homelessness, addiction, or mental health challenges alone. However, it can play a stronger leadership role by working with Niagara Region, healthcare providers, police, outreach organizations, businesses, and community partners to move beyond simply managing these challenges toward reducing them.
Helping people and protecting our community should always go hand in hand.
